Chigasaki Hamadaya is one of the most established bento shop in the Kanto region, with a history spanning 64 years. Founded in 1961, during Japan’s post-war economic boom, Hamadaya originally operated as a dried goods store, serving the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras through times of great change. Driven by a desire to bring delicious food to a wide range of people, the shop transformed into a catering service rooted in the Shonan region.

With its roots in the dried goods business, Hamadaya takes pride in its exceptional dashi (soup stock). Combined with fresh seafood unique to Shonan and flavorful vegetables from Miura Peninsula to the Chigasaki area, Hamadaya has created a variety of beloved bento masterpieces. Among them, the traditional Chikuzen-ni stands out. Each vegetable is meticulously seasoned, and the savory aroma of chicken enhances the dish, making it a perennial favorite among regulars.
